- Annual
candle lighting and adult forum for the mentally ill.
On Sunday, October 5 we will be holding our annual candle lighting at
both services. This is a special time that we recognize the mentally
ill in our families, neighborhoods, in the work place and on our city
streets. They are special people with special needs. At the Faith and
Life Forum, Marilyn Kloncz will present an important message on fetal
alcohol spectrum disorders. This will be an informational meeting on
the dangers of alcohol and pregnancy … an absolute must for any
one who is sexually active. This meeting will be appropriate for the
older generations as well so that warnings can be passed on to our youth.
We hope to see you at the service and please don’t miss the forum.
- A
thank you from Norma Snider and Vic,
her Personal Care Attendant: “Tusen takk (a thousand thanks) once
again to each of you for your love, caring and prayers; for your cards,
phone calls, gifts, rides, food and all of your many kindnesses. Your
support makes another journey through varied health problems much easier.
You are so kind, God is so good, and it is such a beautiful world He
gives us in which to live and enjoy each day. I would appreciate your
continued prayers, as I need them for healing. Our hearts are overflowing
with love from and for all of you. We thank you from the bottom of our
hearts for everything.”
- The
Minnehaha Nokomis Grief Support Group’s fall session,
“Grieving and Growing,” will be held Mondays, September
15 through November 3, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 4120 17th Avenue South.
Registration and refreshments begin at 4:30 p.m., followed at 5 p.m.
by an hour and a half education time and small group support. For more
information, call Kolleen Morgan at (612) 724-3691.
